CSC #2 (Cadet/Junior) and CSC #1 (Senior) - January 28-30, 2011

Information about the 2011 CSC #2 (cadet/junior) and CSC #1 (senior) has been updated on the CFF website.

The competition will be held in the Richmond Oval (6111 River Road, Richmond, BC) from January 28-30, 2011.

According to the qualification criteria for senior events:
Senior events – must be ranked in the top 64 of the CFF Senior rankings. BC is allowed 5 provincial selections per event – if you wish to be considered please respond to this email by December 6th with the following details:

Name
Competition you want to enter
CFF number

Selections will be given in the following priority:
Former national senior or junior team members
CFF Ranked fencers in order of ranking
Non ranked fencers

If you wish to compete in the CSCs, you must contact John French by December 6th.

End of term winter party

Hi everyone,

We are planning on doing some sort of winter party/get-together once exams are over (and hopefully before you guys head home for the holidays). Possibly some sort of food get-together or potluck, with a fencing movie, board games and Nintendo Wii party games for us to play with. Possible dates include December 17, 18, 19, 20 or 21.

I just set up a Doodle page so it'll be easier for everyone to let us know when they are free. A winter party date has not been set yet. I want to set one up on a day which fits most people's schedules. Please fill in the Doodle page by December 10th.

By-elections - November 8, 2010

Hi everyone,

We are holding a club by-election on Monday, November 8, 2010.

The positions of Secretary and Vice-President are currently vacant, so we will be having an election at the start of practice. If you are interested in running, please be prepared to give a speech about why you should be elected. If you cannot make it and still want to run, you can email your speech to us and we will read it out for you.

Social dinner on November 7, 2010

We'll be going out for dinner on Sunday, November 7, 2010, after the Remembrance Day Tournament is over.

We're going to Moxie's Classic Grill (1759 West Broadway, Vancouver) at 5:00 pm for dinner. It's right at Burrard Street & West Broadway, or 3 blocks west of Granville & Broadway. You could either take the #17 or #9 from UBC to Burrard Street, or take the #99 b-line and stop at Granville Street, and walk west 3 blocks.
